Blogging Styles and Attention Spans

Here's a question that I was asked today at work which has nothing to do with blogging... yet it has everything to do with it. What type of attention span did I think the new EMT's had during orientation? This can easily be translated into what type of attention span did I think blog readers had while reading a blog?

I've seen a lot of different styles... everything from novels, to novellas, to essays, to two liners. What if as hard as you try you have an awful lot to say? Do you do multiple short posts or one really long one?

So now the question in my mind is what do you think is better... short and sweet (possibly multiple posts) or long and winded (one post with everything in there)?
